“From bouquet to brushstroke – the inspiration behind my latest blooming painting”
Last Friday night I was invited to a friend and her husband's house for dinner. We sat in their greenhouse, which they built themselves from recycled windows and doors, and I promise – it felt like stepping into a little oasis somewhere far away. The scent of blooming geraniums and roses, candlelights twinkling in the corners and the evening sun filtering through the glass.

I left with my heart filled with inspiration – and an absolutely stunning bouquet of flowers in my hand. 🌸

When I woke up the next day, I sat down with breakfast and read Isa's blog (if you haven't checked it out yet and you love flowers and gardening, do it – you'll thank me!). After a few lines about summer flowers, I couldn't wait a second longer. I went straight down to the studio, placed the bouquet in front of me and let the colors speak.

Now there is a large canvas and two smaller paintings on the easels – all filled with the shapes, colors of the flowers and the feeling I carried with me from that evening. I love when a painting begins with a scent, a feeling, a moment. It is precisely those moments that make me never tire of painting.
