Tips on really good colors to paint with

Finding colors that really feel right can take time, even for an artist like me who has been painting for over five decades. That's why I want to share a real gem with you that has quickly become a big favorite in my studio.

My favorites from Målarfabriken

I love how the paints from Målarfabriken behave on the canvas, they have such a good consistency, pigment richness and feel. Their heavy body gel reminds me a lot of working with oil paints. It is slightly thicker in consistency, which makes it easy to build structure and life in the painting.

Create exciting structure in your painting

During the fall and winter, I will show more examples of how I use their Base Layer and Crackle Paste to create exciting textures and crackle effects in the paintings.

I will also be working more with their Aqrylic paints, a completely different category that is somewhere between acrylic, oil and watercolor. It is a material that really invites playful creation and is perfect if you want to combine different techniques and build up several layers in your painting .
